Insurance company adjusters get paid well for every inspection and estimate they do. If not paid they would not do them.  Insurance companies have unlimited financial resources, roofing contractors do not!  Don't work hard, work smart!

It's not at all unreasonable for a reputable roofing contractor to charge anywhere from $75.00 to $300.00 or "Other Consideration" (homeowner agrees up front to use your company if you inspect and estimate for no out of pocket expense) for quality roof inspections and insurance type quality estimates (we train you to do those). 

 

Frankly and unfortunately most roofing sales people are not properly trained to inspect and estimate at a level of proficiency considered adequate by insurance companies.
